The Francistown Airport is one of the busiest in Botswana. Because it is situated so close to the second-largest city in the country, much of the air traffic coming in is routed through Francistown Airport. The airport does have some amenities for travelers, including snacks and light beverages, though there isn't much in the way of luxury.

The airport is easy to navigate, mainly because of its relatively small size. There is only one airline with regularly scheduled service into Francistown Airport, and that is Air Botswana. Flights are mainly to African destinations, including Johannesburg and other sub-Saharan cities. Cape Town is a popular city of origin for travelers coming into Francistown.

Car hire services are available at the airport, but a more extensive selection is available in Francistown, the city itself. Because the population is large enough to support such services, there is a wide selection of modern and budget cars available.

The airport boasts two runways, The longest is 2.2 kilometers long, while the shorter runway is just over a kilometer in length.
