I phoned to change the

I phoned to change the time for pick up and return of the car. It was not a good experience. I was told I could not do it and encouraged to book an up grade. I wanted to change my booking and return by 4 hours from 10.00am to 2.oo pm. I was told it was not possible to change it. I was told a car would not be available. I said I would take the risk and ended up in cancelling my booking and then re booking on line. Not helpful. I almost did not use your site to re book.

We booked a Yaris or

We booked a Yaris or similar, but on arrival were allocated a larger Hyundai Accent which was too large for my wife to drive. ECCR at Hobart apparently have very few Yaris-sized cars. Fortunately we were going to be passing nearby a few days later so were able to substitute the Accent for a smaller Kia Rio for the rest of our trip, but Carrentals need to check more carefully what sort of cars are actually available - size does matter, and a bigger car than you've booked isn't necessarily acceptable to all customers.

Good range of vehicles available

Good range of vehicles available. The main problem was lack of information about the additional cost of a one-way hire. When you initially enter details of the desired hire, your website shows the same price as for returning to the same location. Only when you proceed with the actual booking does the additional one-way hire fee appear. This is seriously misleading.

Karratha Airport opened its doors in 1983, was completely refurbished 1998 and is one of the biggest airports in all of Australia. The aborigines say Karratha in their language refers to .good country.. Karratha. When aussies talk of mining, many of them mention Karratha . it.s growth came from various mining companies who needed room for homes and families. Actually the Europeans had problems being comfortable and moved on quickly, because the climate is a bit tough on human beings. There are many who have learned to love this town and call it home with pride.

Swimming pools are a dime a dozen and air conditioning is probably the one thing outside pools that make living in Karratha bearable. It has more than its share of severe storms, but the community continues to grow. As mentioned the Karrath Airport is one of the biggest and offers car hire, and other transportation services within the confines of the airport.

The best way to save money and time is to get your car hire at the same time you schedule a flight to Karratha. Once you land there are good sleeping accomodations, and truly a diversified selection of restaurants including fast foods.

If you come in August, catch the Fenaclng Festival, which is a great celebration in honor of the mining companies. Betcha, think I spelled the first name of the Festival incorrectly, but remember I mentioned miners. The (FE) stands for iron, the (NACL) for salt, (LNG) liquefied natural gas so now you see where the word Fenaclng came from . just a wee bit of history for those who dig the unusual.

The Aborigines were the only people who stayed in Karratha since it.s birth, many people just couldn.t hack the harsh environment . the town is loaded with great history of the Aborigines. You.ll enjoy the conveniences at the airport and if you forgot your car hire, stop and take care of it on the way to the baggage area.

To pick up your car, you will need your voucher, passport, driver's license and a credit card. It is very important that your driver's license and credit card are in the same name as the main driver. Keep in mind that the local rental company will reserve a certain amount on your credit card as a deposit. This requires the PIN code for your credit card. If your driver's license is foreign (for example, in Chinese), you must bring a translation with you. Only your original passport and driver's license will be accepted - a copy is not sufficient.
