Saint Raphael is a city located in the far southeast of France, barely within national boundaries and hemmed in both by the French Alps and the beautiful Cote d'Azur. With its ideal Mediterranean climate it is a popular destination for a weekend getaway for both the French and the neighbouring Swiss and Italians.

The Saint Raphael Rail Station serves TGV trains leaving Paris' Gare de Lyon bound for Nice, and Paris' Gare d'Austerlitz bound for Corail Lunea. Provincial train lines 03 and 06 operated by the TER Provence-Alpes-Cote d'Azur also travel between Saint Raphael, Marseille and Nice. The Saint Raphael Rail Station is located in the town centre a short walk from the bay and offers basic passenger amenities, including car hire.

Like most other cities on the French Mediterranean coast, Saint Raphael can be quite expensive, which means that if you can afford to spend some time here, accommodation, eating and drinking are all of high quality. There are also many activities both in the hills, the city and in the sea to keep visitors amused.

The south of France is also a good place to see by hire car, and there are rental outlets in virtually every city in the region. It is best to book a hire car online in advance to ensure the best price and availability. During high season, this region is crowded with visitors.
