Prince Rupert is a little port city on the coast of Kaien Island, northwest of British Columbia in Canada. Transport

Prince Rupert Airport is on Digby Island, just a brief ride on a ferry from Prince Ruperts' city center. It is a small airport that only has service to Vancouver two hours by propeller plane away. Two flights are available each day by Air Canada and Hawkair. The shuttle bus and ferry service to and from Prince Rupert city is free. The travel time from Prince Rupert to the Vancouver National Airport by bus or ferry is four hours. Car hire is available at the airport.

Tourists can rent a car and take an eight-hour drive down Highway 16 west from Prince George. However, it is best not to take this trip in the winter months unless you are familiar with the treacherous conditions. Greyhound offers bus service daily between Prince Rupert and Prince George. If you prefer to travel by foot, most of Prince Rupert is accessible this way.
