As the primary airport in Wales, the newly refurbished terminal is only 12 miles from Cardiff City Centre and handles 1,500,000 passengers a year, flying directly to 13 key destinations across the UK and Europe.

The airport's single terminal provides check-in-desks on the 1st floor while those arriving at the airport can be met on the ground floor in the main concourse.

Money can now be exchanged online through Travelex via the Travel Offers section, or at one of the three bureaux de change outlets available throughout the terminal building. ATMs are also found in the terminal.

The food court area overlooks the runway and provides a wide range of catering options including sandwiches, snacks, hot food and beverages. The Scrum Half Bar opens for all departing flights, while the departures lounge has a good Deli. The Pride of Wales traditional pub also serves a selection of hot food and bar meals.

Shopping outlets at Cardiff International Airport include two World News outlets which offer a full range of newspapers, books, snacks, gifts, tobacco and confectionery. The Travel Shopping Tax and Duty Free shop in the departures lounge offers perfume, cosmetics, confectionery, electronic consumer goods.

Special babycare rooms, equipped with changing tables, nappy dispensers and other essential equipment are also available at the airport. While two games zones provide diversion for children in the departures lounge and on the first floor of the terminal building.

Business travellers will find fax and photocopying facilities available at the Information Desk on the first floor of the main terminal.

The Terminal Building offers easy access to all areas, as well as Disabled Toilets, flight info monitors and a minicom facility from the Info Desk for those with hearing difficulties. Assistance can be provided for boarding the aircraft, and specially allocated spaces are available in the carparks.

Passengers will find the Information Desk situated on the 1st floor of the Terminal building, while a Bakers Dolphin travel agency is situated in the main terminal and is open Monday to Saturday.

To & From

The principal main-line railway station is Cardiff Central Station from where bus and taxi connections to the Airport and destinations throughout the country can be made. There are also connections to Barry Town Station, which is just 5 miles from the Airport. Cardiff is served by regular, direct InterCity and Alphaline trains. There are four different bus companies providing frequent connections to the airport. Cardiff Bus offers Service X91 which runs hourly, Monday to Saturday during the day. EST bus provides Service 345 which operates hourly, Monday to Saturday during the evenings. While Service X5 is provided by First, and runs every 2 hours, Sundays only. Finally Service X45 is operated by Shamrock, and serves the airport hourly, Monday to Saturday during the day.

If you are arriving by car, Exit Junction 33 on the M4 and follow the A4232. Take the first exit off the A4232 at Culverhouse Cross and follow signs to the airport along the A4050 and A4226. The airport is situated in Rhoose, 12 miles west of Cardiff City Centre and 10 miles from Junction 33 on the M4. The car parks, which are manned 24/7 hours have CCTV surveillance. Parking charges can be paid at the payment machines situated within the car parks. These accept both coins and banknotes, as well as credit cards.
